Like so many others, we fell in love with Italy – with its timeless culture, breathtaking landscapes, mouthwatering cuisine, and golden-hued wines. Every summer, we explored a different region, discovering new tastes, traditions, and the warmth of Italian life.
Then one day, we had the opportunity to turn our Italian daydreams into reality. We packed up, left our old life behind, and made Tuscany our new home.
As lovers of art and history, we naturally gravitated toward Florence. The city’s Renaissance charm, artistic heritage, and rolling countryside drew us in completely. When we began renovating our new home near Florence, we uncovered something special: a section of exposed old brickwork in the basement, stamped with the name “Degrassi.”
At first, we assumed it was the mark of an old brickworks. But as we dug deeper into local archives, we discovered the Degrassi family had lived in these hills for centuries. Their story fascinated us – and inspired us. Eventually, we connected with a distant family member, 91-year-old Aunt Giuseppina, and with her blessing, we adopted the name.
In 2016, Toscan Olive Garden was born.
Today, our estate is nestled in the heart of Tuscany, just south of Florence near San Polo in Chianti. Here, we care for our olive groves and vineyards with the same dedication and passion that first drew us to Italy. We believe in small-batch, honest production – rooted in tradition, guided by the land, and shared with love.
Nestled in the picturesque hills near San Polo in Chianti, our estate is a true representation of the Tuscan landscape. The production area is south-southwest facing, benefiting from optimal sunlight and ventilation. Spread across 50 hectares of vineyards and surrounded by around 2,000 olive trees, the estate is both a place of tradition and innovation. We cultivate two noble grape varieties: Sangiovese and Canaiolo, both essential in producing Chianti Classico, one of Italy’s most iconic and beloved wines.
When people hear the word Chianti, it often evokes images of soft, rolling hills and rows of vines bathed in golden sunlight. Our vineyards carry this legacy forward, merging centuries-old cultivation methods with careful modernization to enhance quality while respecting tradition. The land is not just where we produce – it's part of our identity.
Among our most treasured offerings is our cold pressed extra virgin olive oil, crafted from the estate's centuries-old olive trees. Harvested at peak ripeness and immediately pressed to preserve flavor and nutrients, this oil is pure, golden, and intensely aromatic. Its flavor is fruity and slightly peppery – a hallmark of true Tuscan quality. We do not mass-distribute. Our olive oil, like our wine and vinegar, is available exclusively through direct contact with the estate. This ensures that every drop you taste is of the highest possible quality. You won’t find it on store shelves – only in the kitchens of those who seek the finest natural products. If you’re interested in tasting the essence of Tuscany, we invite you to contact us via email.
Our red wine vinegar is made from carefully selected Chianti wines, using a natural fermentation process. The result is a bold, aromatic vinegar with vibrant acidity and deep character. It’s perfect for salads, grilled meats, or vegetables. This is not mass-produced vinegar – it’s an authentic artisan product that brings the taste of Tuscany to your kitchen.
After completing your payment, we will send you the extra virgin olive oil made from your rented tree’s olives each season. The oil is delivered in durable, eco-friendly metal cans for maximum freshness.
